Settlement Fall 2019 Appeal

After attending AFP ICON in March/April 2019, I was inspired to create our fall appeal around something I had heard in one of the sessions: six word stories. I created six word stories for each of our programs around the guise of an invitation so that people wouldn't see the letter and immediately throw it out. This six word story was one that I was the most proud of because it was based off an experience I had with a camper at our House In The Wood camp program. I had asked the camper what was the most surprising thing about camp and she told me "I never knew stars like this existed."
Each "invitation" featured the cover image, a brief overview of the organization on the back, and a call to action asking to change the story with programmatic details and data on the inside. You will see all of that highlighted in the link above. The six versions of the appeal I created ended up doubling revenue from the prior year, raising nearly $100,000.
